Orr bought lots 6, 7, 9, and 10 of block 60, lots 1, 2, 9, and 10 of block 59 in St. Cloud in Stearns County on July 6, 1857;  lots 23 and 24 in block 46, lot 3 of block 7, lot 3 of block 10, lots 1 through 4 and 9 through 12 of block 11, lot 3 of block 13, lots 2 through 4 and 10 through 12 of block 14, lot 3 of block 16 in Benton County; land in Nininger, Dakota County.

He lived in Anderson County, South Carolina. In 1860 his male slaves were ages 50, 40, 25, 7, 4, 4 months, and 1 month; his female slaves were ages 50, 45, 40, 27, 24, 13, 12, 9, 6, 5, 3.

Alford Orr: He was likely Orr’s 7-year-old black male slave in the 1860 slave schedule. By the 1870 census, he was living with a farm laborer.

Peggy Orr: She was likely Orr’s 45-year-old black female slave in the 1860 slave schedule. By the 1870 census, she was a farmer’s live-in “domestic.”
