He bought lot 5 of block 81 and lot 2 of block 77 for $400 from S. B. Lowry on April 7, 1857.

He lived in Nashville, Tennessee and held thirteen slaves there in 1860. The male slaves were ages 18, 15, 12, 8; the female slaves were 40, 35, 29, 14, 10, 4(2 of them), 1 (2 of them). He co-owned Allison, Anderson, & Co. and was a director of the Planters Bank.
